The picture of this Wood Stork foraging was taken at the Sweetwater Wetland Park in Gainesville, Florida during the winter months. There were quite of few Wood Storks along with most of the wading birds at this time.
Wood Storks are usually silent, but nestlings make a ruckus at the breeding colonies. Wood Storks make a clattering sound by snapping their bills together during courtship.

The picture of this showy Snowy Egret walking was taken at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge near Titusville, Florida. Among the most elegant of the herons, the slender Snowy Egret sets off immaculate white plumage with black legs and brilliant yellow feet.

The picture of this Boat-tailed Grackle Male was taken at the Viera Wetlands in Viera Florida. Boat-tailed Grackles have a variable song with harsh jeeb-jeeb-jeeb notes and low-pitched guttural rolls. Both males and females sing, though females do so only rarely.

The picture of this pretty Vermillion Flycatcher was photographed at the St Marks National Wildlife Refuge near Tallahassee Florida towards the end of February 2019. This Vermillion Flycatcher has been seen for the last two years in a similar spot at this Refuge.

Groups of Black Scoters often can be located by the constant mellow, plaintive whistling sound of the males.
