Young fully feathered Great Horned Owls are capable of flight in 45–49 days. They will exhibit hostile behavior at approach of intruder by 15 days by hissing and swaying from side to side, clapping bill and raising wing stubs. Now I understand the behavior I saw when a group of us were watching them.
